We report here surface-induced dissociation spectra of three multiply charged peptides: doubly protonated angiotensin I, doubly protonated renin substrate, and triply protonated melittin. For comparison, the collision-activated dissociation spectra of renin substrate and melittin are also presented.

The effect of initial internal energy on the extent of surface-induced fragmentation was investigated in a tandem mass spectrometer for CH รพ 3 and CH รพ 4 ions prepared in different ion sources. The different initial internal energy content had a considerable effect on the extent of fragmentation of
Full understanding of the surface-induced dissociation (SID) of biological ions requires the determination of the energy channeling into the surface and the scattered ion kinetic and internal energies. Parent and fragment ion kinetic energy distributions were measured for รve peptide ions scattered
