Computerised axial tomography of the spine has been carried out in 56patients with spinal tuberculosis; the extent of the bone and soft tissue involvement, spinal canal encroachment and neural compression were demonstrated. This accurate information made it possible to lay down guide lines for conservative and surgical management. R/~snmb. Les auteurs ont rkalisk un examen tomodensitombtrique du rachis chez 56 malades atteints de tuberculose vertkbrale. Ils ont pu ainsi visualiser l'~tendue de l'atteinte osseuse et des parties molles, l'extension vers le canal rachidien et la compression m~dullaire. Ces renseignements precis permettent d'~tablir des rOgles de conduite et de choisir entre traitement mkdical et chirurgical.
