β¦ Synopsis
New data demonstrate that the Colnish and German rex mutants are either identical or are phenotypically closely similar alleles at the same locus. The Devon rex is definitely independent of Cornish and it seems probable that the Oregon rex is independent of Cornish and Devon.

A new, dominant, rexoid coat mutant (Rd) in the cat is described, discovered in the Netherlands.
The Oregon rex is shown to be due to an autosomal recessive gene (symbol ro) and is independent of the two previously known rexoid genes, Cornish rex and Devon rex.
The results of a gene frequency survey conducted in Salem, Massachusetts reveal a genetic profile that closely resembles that of Boston, Xew York and Philadelphia. Problems relating to the interpretation of phenotypic associations are discussed. Genetic distance relationships are commented upon and
