Statistical series of flood/drought (F/D) grades and F/D variabilities were derived for the flood and drought chronology (2700 BC-1980 AD) of central China. Two types of climatic jumps were analyzed. The moving sign-test, T-test and F-test were applied to detect jump signals. A few wet-to-dry jumps
