โœฆ Synopsis


The resonance Raman spectrum of titanium tetrabromide has been obtained with W excitation-It consists of progressions in the vl(al) symmetric stretching mode, viz. CJ,Y~ to u1 = 11, IJ~Y~ + v2 to u1 = 9, utvl f us to ut = 5, and utvt + ~4 tour = l,from which wl.illr~12,~1s andx14 hake been calculated. Excitation profdes of the vl(al) and ug(tZ) bands in &he vicinity of the resonant electronic tmnsition are given, together with evidence for Jahn-Teller coupling in the 'Tt excited state at 349 nm.
