โœฆ Synopsis

It is well known that the wave mechanical ~ equation BARTOL RESEARCH leads to the conclusion that the centroid of the wave FOUNDATION mechanical electron should move according to the classical Communication No. 84. electrodynamlc equation of motion in which, however, the terms representing what is commonly called radiation reaction are absent. If v is the velocity of the electron, the classical rate of change of momentum is rnd/dt{v/(I-v2/c2)112}. The equation of motion including radiation reaction terms may be regarded as obtainable by replacing this quantity by one obtained by operating upon it with the operator p-1

The Heisenberg and Liouville dynamical equations are mapped using the Wave-Packet Phase Space Representation. A semiclassical perturbative expansion is introduced -the Quasi-Causal Approximation -for the Green function and an expression for transition probabilities is derived up to the first order.
