✦ Synopsis
The multi-channel variablc phase method has been gcneralized to the nelativistic case. The problem of solving a system of coupled radial Dirac equations without exchange has bccn reduced to the problem of direct outward integration of a non-linear differential equation satisfied by the reaction matrix K(r). The method is suitable for solving ~lativistic asymptotic equations occumng in thc clcctron-atom and elcct~n-ion scattcring theory. A matching procedun~ for the relativistic N-matrix method and the ~lativistic multi-channel variable phase approach has becn described.
