## Abstract The purpose of this study was to identify differences in 3D kinematics, kinetics, and ankle joint muscle activity in subjects with functional instability (FI) of the ankle joint during a drop jump. Twentyβfour subjects with the subjective complaint of FI of the ankle joint and 24 noninj

β¦ Synopsis
One of the functional tasks of the skeletal muscles is protect the body as shock absorption, therefore shock absorption, and reducing the Rate of Loading (ROL) might be a reason of reducing the rate of injuries while on the other hand could help for functional impairment. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the strength of quadriceps muscle with the ROL during single leg drop landing. 12 healthy subjects (23Β±2 years and 73Β±3 kg) participated in this study. Eccentric force of quadriceps was measured by the Biodex system and the ground reaction forces (GRF) measured by the force plate (AMTI). The Pearson correlation method used to analyze the data. The mean force of the quadriceps muscles was 3.75 N and the mean ROL was 630.43 N/ms. Significant correlation wasn't seen in eccentric force of quadriceps with ROL. The results of this study indicated that quadriceps has no role in decreasing the ROL in single leg drop landing.
