✦ Synopsis
Highly significant correlations were found to exist between the refractive index of fish oils and their content of eicosapentaenoic acid, the sum of eicosapentaenoic and docosahexaenoic acid and the total polyunsaturated fatty acids. T h e refractive index of a fish oil can be used therefore as an indicator of the content of the abovementioned fatty acids.
