β¦ Synopsis
A previous study from this laboratory I followed the effect of poisons on the potential of the hydrogen electrode. It is well known that the hydrogen electrode gives erratic results when used to measure pH in solutions that contain so-called electrode poisons. This seemed 1 to be caused by changes in the amount of hydrogen adsorbed on the platinized platinum electrode. Further studies 2-6 have improved the technique for measuring the amount of adsorbed hydrogen and results obtained have ,h,dicated that the process was not as simple as was first indicated. For this reason a more extensive study was made of the relationship between the amount of adsorbed hydrogen and the potential of the hydrogen electrode.

While platelet adhesion to biomaterial surfaces is widely recognized to be related to adsorbed fibrinogen (Fg), it has remained controversial whether platelet adhesion is in response to the adsorbed amount or the adsorbed conformation of this protein. To address this issue, we designed a series of p
Recent publications 1 3 have critically examined the correlations between hydrogen overvoltage and E(M-H), the strength of the bond between adsorbed hydrogen and the electrode surface. In the absence of experimental data on the latter, Krishtalik 1 extracted estimates of E(M-H) from kinetic and mech
The influence of the choice of the intramolecular potential on the resulting frequency shift of the fundamental vibrational transition in the dihydrogen molecule adsorbed on zeolite NaA is estimated. It is shown that an improved Morse potential and the potential calculated by Kotos and Wolniewicz le
