The effect of theophylline, a specific inhibitor of phosphodiesterase, on gap junction-mediated intercellular communication between Chinese hamster V79 cells was examined. It was found that addition of theophylline to coculture of 6-thioguanine-resistant (TGr) and 6-thioguanine-sensitive (TGs) V79 c
