Try and escape? Quit? Fight?
The Initiative is a death trap.
Leadership has lied about everything.
The way to Jannah is not what was promised.
In the aftermath of being cross-matched with each others spouses, Anna, Logan, Orion, and Mercury attempt to make their way in the Initiative against the edicts of the Match program. But as the Initiatives systems of control tighten around them all, the consequences of disobedience force them to decide how much compliance they are willing to give.
Living alongside them, Aiko Tanaka works to try and save her dying brother Kazuo. Their Orbital matches, Carl Espinoza and Kameron Fitch, work to advocate with the leadership of the Initiative to care for Kazuos condition, but it may be too late to save his life. Meanwhile, Gordon and Jessie pursue the real reasons why Gordon joined the Initiative, drawing closer to the dangerous secrets the Consortium is keeping from the rest of the human race.
When startling revelations come to light about the nature of the Consortiums technology and how it can change the universe, the members of the Initiative will have to decide what will become of their hopes and dreams for their futures. Will they accept the will of the Consortium, conform to what is expected from them in exchange for the promise of hope on a new world, or will they choose to rebel against the greatest world power the human race has left to rescue humankind?
