Abstract
The reaction of PSCl~3~, with alkylmagnesium halides has been studied. In the case of methylβ, ethylβ, propylβ, butylβ and __iso__butylβmagnesium halides compounds with formula (R~2~PS)~2~, were formed. Their infrared spectra were recorded from 400 cm^β1^ to 3000 cm^β1^. From these spectra it was concluded that bi(dialkylphosphinothioyl) compounds were formed.
In most cases a number of byβproducts were isolated and some of these were identified.
