Abstract
The rate of growth of crystals from a melt containing the tetrasolvate of calcium nitrate with dimethylsulphoxide was measured in dependence on the supercooling (Δ__T__ = 1–46°C) and the results were compared with the system containing the tetrahydrate of calcium nitrate. It was concluded from the results obtained that the growth mechanism is similar in the two systems.
