✦ Synopsis
The kinetics of formation of the hydrates of F-31 and F-IJZb have been measured spparately in a continuous-stirred tank reactor of 3700 cc volume. Rates of formation vary from 0.6 to 3 \v t u,,/min with the AT ranging from 0.25 ta 0.9 "C and the agitation rate varying bct\rcen I and 46 wattsliiter. All data were taken in NaCl dutions of near 6",, by weight. F-3t(CH,CIF) hydrate appears to be an excellent choice for use in the hydrate process fur desahrng. Its formation conditions in pure water are 17.9'C and 2_8 atm absolute, the rates of Formation are high. and the crystals formed are rough spheres of me:tn diameters of 200 to 250 microns.
