β¦ Synopsis
The recent progress in the investigations on the quark structure of the A and E baryons are reviewed. It is shown that the quark structure of A and E hyperons can provide a new domain to test various theories concerning the spin and flavor structure of the nucleon. The A and E Physics might be new directions to explore the quark distributions of baryons both theoretically and experimentally.

We study the quark-mass dependence of J P = 1 2 -s-wave and J P = 3 2 -d-wave baryon resonances. Parameter-free results are obtained in terms of the leading order chiral Lagrangian. In the 'heavy' SU(3) limit with m Ο = m K 500 MeV the s-wave resonances turn into bound states forming two octets plus
