✦ Synopsis
Results of measurements of the quadratic electrooptic coefficient g 1111 À g 2211 in DKDP crystals are presented. Its absolute value is found to be 3X40 Â 10 À20 m 2 aV 2 , i.e. two orders of magnitude smaller than the values reported earlier. The applicability of the assumption of a rough constancy of intrinsic electrooptic coefficients in KDP-type crystals is discussed.

## Abstract The anomalous wedge‐like shape of KH~2~PO~4~‐type single crystal, also called tapering, is discussed in this paper. DKDP single crystals grew on seeds from the solutions containing high concentrations of Al^3+^, Fe^3+^ and Cr^3+^ impurities. The tapering phenomenon occurred on the prism
Recently, with the diversification of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) problems, the need for an electric field sensor to measure the electromagnetic pulses and the electric field near the equipment has increased greatly. An electric field sensor using LiNbO,, which has an electrooptical effect,
