✦ Synopsis
A short overview on diffractive deep inelastic scattering is given with emphasis on the photon wave function as unique QCD-result. The q~/-and q~g-components of the wave function are largely responsible for the shape of the ~3-spectrum. The dipole cross section which describes the scattering of the partons on the target is governed by less simple dynamics. Different models lead to different xp-distributions.
