✦ Synopsis
TEM-B-lactamase was purified by immobilized metal affinity chromatography from E. coil cell extracts. It was hypothesized that this protein could be purified in one step due to the abundence of metal binding residues. A pH gradient eluted the cell extract proteins. EDTA treatment released TEM-Blactamase. This procedure is much simpler than the current methods employed for TEM-8-1actamase purification.
