✦ Synopsis
Hypophosphatasia is an inborn metabolic error resulting in abnormal bone mineralization. In the most severe form of hypophosphatasia, rapid death of a deformed neonate can occur from inadequate bony support.2 An ultrasonic diagnosis of hypophosphatasia is usually based on the failure to observe a fetal head by 16 week^.^-^ We describe a new ultrasonic observation that can be helpful in suggesting this diagnosis even if a fetal head is clearly demonstrated.
