Abstract
The company's wise investment in a high‐potential leader has paid big dividends for the organizations she has led. Rose Ann Scanlon's success in getting breakthrough business results is due to a leadership style rooted in an unshakeable belief in the power of fully engaged employees and the responsibility of their leaders to be an enabling influence every step of the way. The author traces Rose Ann's journey from lawyer to midlevel manager, and then draws on feedback from bosses, direct reports, and peers to characterize the aspects of Rose Ann's leadership approach that make her so effective in taking her organizations to new levels of performance, and in grooming other transformational leaders. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
