β¦ Synopsis
Specific rates of growth (Cw) of Mesocyclops leuckarti, young male and female instars varied between 0 .03-0 .26 and 0.03-0 .17 Β΅g(w .w .)/Β΅g(w .w .)/day respectively at 15Β° and 22Β°C, whilst at IV-V copepodid stages females showed a higher Cw values . During 1969-1975 the averages of productivity and monthly P/B ratios were 44 (Β± 23) g(w.w.) (= 5 g(d.w .)/ m`/ month) and 3 .1 respectively . P/13 ratios were highly correlated (r 2 = 0 .98) with temperature changes . Metabolic parameters and P/ B ratios were found to be similar to other water bodies in the world indicating an adaptation of M. leuckarti to different conditions . * Contribution No . 131 . Silver carp Hypophtha/michthvs molitrix Val . have been stocked in Lake Kinneret, Israel, since 1969 . From 1972 to 1981, 11 X 10 6 fingerlings were introduced into the lake . Total silver carp catch however was only 642 during this period, resulting in a progressive increase in the silver carp popu
The seasonal and bathymetrical distribution of Mesocyclops leuckarti (Claus) was investigated during 1969-1975. Development time of egg, naupliar and copepodite stages were found experimentally at three temperatures (15Β° 22Β°and 27Β°C) . The calculations of population dynamics generated some unexplain
