## Abstract Petroleum fractions or similar hydrocarbonaceous materials are converted into liquid, highly (over 95%.) aromatic products and highly olefinic gases, when cracked in packed tubes at 630‐650°, at slightly super‐atmospheric pressure and a space velocity of 0·05‐0·5. Metallic packing, espe
