โฆ Synopsis
Absbac&--The existence of inhomogeneities in a material has a significant effect on the fracture behavior of the material. In this paper, the plane problem of cracks on the interfaces of inhomogeneities and matrices is investigated by using Muskhelishvili's complex variable method, assuming that the shear moduli of the inhomogeneities are far larger than the matrix. The inhomogeneities can be in arbitrary shapes. For example, elliptical, regular triangular and square inhomogeneities are considered and their solutions are given.
