✦ Synopsis
The view of education as a process of development, rather than as knowledge acquisition, dominates the discussions concerning new information technologies in primary schools. As a consequence, emphasis is put not on the end products to be attained, but rather on the processes. In primary schools NITs offer approaches to teaching which can help to promote those processes.
A system-oriented approach seems to be most suited for the study of the variables that influence the teaching-learning processes in the classroom. The number of studies concerned with identifying those variables is still growing. Sharing and discussing these findings will not only give us a better understanding, but will be helpful for implementing and monitoring the progress of NIT in primary schools.
