## Abstract Dispersion polymerization of 4โvinylpyridine was performed by using polystyreneโ__block__โpolybutadiene as stabilizer in a mixture of __N__,__N__โdimethylformamide (DMF) and toluene to produce polymer particles. The weight ratio of the solvents affects the particle size and dispersity.
The preparation of monodisperse, ultrafine polymermodified colloidal silica, 11 or 42 nm in diameter, were studied. The reaction of the colloidal silica with polymeric silane coupler in 1,2-dimethoxyethane and removal of the unreacted polymer with granular silica gel (10-20 mesh) in acetone gave a s
Nanoparticles of tin oxide (SnO 2 ) have been prepared from water-in-oil microemulsions consisting of water, AOT (surfactant), and n-heptane (oil). Precursor hydroxides were precipitated in the aqueous cores of water-in-oil microemulsions and then calcined at 600ยฐC for 2 h to form tin oxide powder.
