✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Diphenylchloroarsine can be obtained in good yield in the laboratory by interaction of phenyldichloroarsine and phenylarsenoxide at 250‐300Β°C. in glass. In order to minimize dispropotrionation of the product into phenyldichloroarsine and triphenylarsine it is necessary to have present an excess of phenyldichloroarsine, most of which is recoverable.

Improvements have been made in the preparation of phenyl‐ at sonic acid from aniline and details are given of the reduction of the former to phenyldichlorarsine and to phenylarsenoxide.
