Re~genls.-9% sodium tungstate, pure or commercial. Normal sulphuric acid. Fehhg solutions no. 1 and no. 2. Methylene-hluc, 1% nqaeouq solution.
(a) Zncubation.--30 g. of the standard flour and 0.12 g. of malt flour are weighed into a dry 250-C.C. Erlenmeyer floak or wide-mouth bottle and placed in a bnth thermosteticnlly controlled n t 27" c. for nbout 15 minutes until the flour nttnins the tempcrnturc of the bnth. 160 C.C. of distilled wnter nrc added nt 27" c., the flask is corked nnd shaken gently until nll the flour is in suspension, a i d iucubnted nt 27" c. for 1 hour, during which time iiiore vigorous shnkiug is repented every 10 minutes. (b) Znhibition of the diaslose aid preparation of the exhct.--lO C.C. of 9% sodium tungstote solution nre added, followed by 9 C.C. of a-sulphuric ncid, and the mixturc is shnkeu gently.
