✦ Synopsis

The formation of 1,2,3-triazoles from the reaction of organic azides with compounds containing an activated methylene group is well known. Thus the reaction of acetoacetlc ester with aryl azides, in the presence of sodium alkoxide, yields 1,2,3-triazoles (III).
