## Abstract In this paper a summary is given on the reproducible preparation of large, nearly defectless yttrium iron garnet single crystals (YIG) grown in fluxes by slowly cooling with accelerated crucible rotation (ACRT) and local bottom cooling. The surface morphology of the growth faces is disc
