Linked scanning mass spectrometry at constant B / E under unimolecular decomposition conditions has been used to confirm the presence of cinchonine as one of the major metabolites of a plant cell culture of Cinchona ledgerianu, demonstrating the potential of this technique as a general method for the analysis of metabolic products from cell and tissue cultures.
