Abstract

A two‐box atmospheric chemistry model was used to study the effect of biogenic isoprene emissions upon trace gas constituents in the urban troposphere. Isoprene was shown to lower OH and NO~x~ and raise O~3~ and VOCs in summer, simulating a reduction of air quality in cities and their environments. Copyright Β© 2006 Royal Meteorological Society
