β¦ Synopsis
The polymerization of trioxan, initiated by boron trifluoride n-butyl etherate, has been studied in cyclohexane solution at 50 Β°, 65 Β° and 70 Β°. Correlations have been obtained between the yields and inherent viscosities of the polymer and the main reaction variables. Increasing the concentration of initiator results in larger yields of polymer but has little effect on inherent viscosity, whereas both higher yields and higher inherent viscosities are obtained when the monomer concentration is increased. 0-15 0.16
