✦ Synopsis

The ET(30) polarity values of alcoholic salt solutions were determined for tventy salt/solvent combinations. In all cases equation [Z] correlates accurately the medium polarity with the salt concentration. The meaning of this equation is discussed in terms of possible interactions in solution. The dye (11 is shown to be a useful probe for the catlonlc environment of salts in solution.
