โœฆ Synopsis

Last year the body of Richard III famously came to light in Leicester but the discovery of the body has not lessened the interest in the king and all aspects of his life. This novel addresses Richards story only in passing but is still an engaging contribution to Ricardian literature. Even better, it is a good read. Rob Tyler is an archivist and historian who is caught up in a mystery when a rare book is stolen from an elderly lady in his family history group. Indignant that the lady has been injured in the theft, he determines to find the book and the thieves who stole it. In company with his neighbour, Chris Bailey a builder he finds the affair much more serious and dangerous than he had anticipated. And in the end, he finds that the burglary, and the stolen book, are the key to solving one of the most stubborn puzzles in history. The two main characters, Rob and Chris, are very different in personalities and complement each other very well. All the characters are real people: a convincing pair of local toughs; an old lady who is not as fragile as she looks; her resilient and intelligent niece; a villain who is not a stereotype. And a convincing twist at the end too. Its well worth spending an hour or two with this mystery. Q : R Genre : Mystery Edit : e Formats : AZW3, EPUB, ORIGINAL_AZW3
