Data base design encompasses both business and technical aspects. Conceptual data modelling creates a conceptual schema to abstract the user view of data within the business context. This conceptual schema is mapped to the logical data model structure in order to obtain a set of normalized relations

โฆ Synopsis
The physics data base is introduced along with its associated data base management system. The emphasis is on data and their use and a classification of data and of data bases is developed to distinguish compilation organizations. The characteristics of these organizations are examined briefly and the long term consequences of the physics data base discussed.
