cross-correlation operation. The proposed system is rather robust in terms of system alignment. Pattern recognition based on the morphological HMT has been demonstrated. The rank-order HMT, which provides better performance in cases with noise and clutter, also can be achieved using the proposed sys

contact between the cell and the surrounding liquid. The major task of this technique is to measure the microfluid velocity field by using the optical particle image velocimetry. We have demonstrated that the optical system built at Penn State indeed can be used to measure the microfluid velocity field in real time. In the future, we will apply our system to the real cardiac cell contractile force measurement.
