The developmcnt of the median eminence of several species of American anurans was studied in correlation with the progress of metamorphosis. Before nietamorphosis the hypothalamic arteries break up into a plexus of capillaries lying in the extensive area of contact between the anterior lobe and the floor of the hypothalamus.
