After reading this book, I was left with a feeling that whilst the organisation of day case surgery is relatively easy, there remain problems in assessing recovery. These can be vital if unsupervised patients gain access to dangerous machinery such as the motor car. More careful studies are certainly needed and this book should stimulate them.
