β¦ Synopsis
Irradiation of CO by CO Fourth-Positive light results in emission from various CO triplet states, and this emission is attributed to a rcsonnnce fluorescence process involving optically forbidden transitions. Certain rotational levels of the triplet states are perturbed by the A1 II state, and it is only these levels that. are seen in emission.
