Abstract

An apparatus is described in detail for the determination of the permeability of proofed fabrics and similar materials to fumigants under atmospheric conditions. The permeability of various samples of proofed fabrics to methyl bromide and hydrogen cyanide has been determined over a limited range of concentrations at 20Β·5Β°. The effect of wear on the permeabilities of the samples has been tested. Some determinations were made at 30Β° and the effect of temperature qualitatively indicated. The results and their application are briefly discussed.
