โฆ Synopsis
I n connection with a study of the respiratory metabolism of the eggs of the gephyrean worm Urechis caupo, the nitrogen metabolism of the developing eggs was investigated. The possible synthesis of protein was a point to which special attention was paid. This information was also desirable for purposes of comparison with similar investigations in plant embryos being conducted in this laboratory.
Very little information concerning the nitrogen metabolism during the earliest stages of embryonic development exists in the literature.
