The parametric instability of a partially covered, symmetric, simply supported sandwich beam with viscoelastic covers and subjected to an axial pulsating load is studied. The effects of single as well as separate partial viscoelastic covers, cover ratio and location of covers on the static buckling loads are considered. The regions of parametric instability for various values of the system parameters are presented and the influence of such parameters on the stability of the system is studied.
