✦ Synopsis

The thicknesses of oxide films formed in oxygen were estimated from measurements of the electrical capacitances of the films after oxidation. The oxidation of tantslum at temperatures below 350°C is adequately described by the Cabrera-Mott theory for the growth of thin oxide films on metals.

Various redox reactions at the oxide/solution interface give information on the conduction mechanism in thin anodic oxide Urns. Because of the inhomogeneous current distribution in such films it is difficult to use semiconductor models in more than a qualitative manner. ## Rbum~Diverses reactions
