✦ Synopsis


The effect of a boron-phosphorous-silicon oxidation inhibitor on the gas phase oxidation of graphite was studied using different graphites. During the course of the study it was noted, by the determination of activation energies, that the zone II response was absent when the particular inhibitor employed was present. The absence of the diffusion controlled zone II range is believed to be due to an effective plugging of the pores of the graphite.
