✦ Synopsis

Kimpton.) 30s. THIS is a small monograph which deals with the operations performed on inguinal and femoral hernias by such pioneers as Bassini, Halsted, Wyllys Andrews, A. H. Ferguson, and Lotheissen. An historical account of each of these surgeons is presented, but nothing is said of the operations by Macewen, Coley, Kocha, and Bloodgood.

It is a great pity that this monograph is so restricted, and deals with relatively few of the great surgeons of the past who contributed so much to the surgery of hernia.
