This book by University of Montreal sociologist Marcel Fournier, translated from the French edition published in 1994, is the first intellectual biography of pioneering ethnographer Marcel Mauss (1872Mauss ( -1950)). The nephew of sociologist Emile Durkheim, Mauss not only helped to promote the work
