Nonprofit organizations are facing a challenge similar to that of many other organizations: the old structures don't apply anymore, and the new ones are yet to be found. This challenge is created by the rise of the Internet, the evolution of two-way communication, and the development of new tools that put greater social impact in the hands of ordinary people. In this article, I explore the shift in the role of organizations, and how nonprofits can address the challenges created by this shift.
