The combustion of natural gas has been studied in a pilot-scale turbulent #uidized bed of inert particles at relatively high temperatures (800}10003C). Experiments were carried out in both bubbling and turbulent regimes. Combustion can be completed in the #ammability range with a suitable injection

As a model of the novel superconductor Na x CoO 2 AE yH 2 O, we study a triangular Hubbard model with doubly degenerate atomic orbitals, using an optimization variational Monte Carlo method. It is found that when the isolated Fermi surface overlaps the van Hove singularity points, d x 2 รy 2 and d +
