Abstract

By means of appearance potential measurements and metastable analysis, it is shown that the [C~2~H~6~N]^+^ and [CH~4~N]^+^ ions formed from methylated formamides, acetamides, ureas and thioureas rearrange upon formation to structures similar to the [MH]^+^ ions from mono‐ and dimethylamine.
